My approach avoids dogmatic thinking such as a “series of three” […]. Listening to the patient’s problems is the essential beginnings of my interaction with a patient and is paramount to my approach”, says Dr. John A. Coccaro about his approach to pain medicine. Prior to his current endeavors, he served as an anesthesiologist at the Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Moreover, Dr. Coccaro is active in providing health care to underprivileged communities. His endeavors include a volunteer mission trip to Haiti with the Hospital of the Sacred Heart in Milot, Haiti. “My humble beginnings started in Brooklyn… The people who lived there […] worked for the good of their family and their bodies suffered for it. It was through their suffering that I saw my future in medicine and so my decision to become a doctor was more one of fate rather than being born into it”, expresses Dr. John A. Coccaro.
